helldwells : a highly selective, slow-paced, independent blog for elias ryker from altered carbon, with reminiscences of the show & books albeit the character is not quite developed and thus will be extremely headcanon based with original characteristics and backstory.

  altered carbon ://   elias ryker was once one of the most promising detectives in bay city's police department. born and raised in the gritty streets of the city, he had an innate sense of justice and a relentless drive to protect the innocent. his tenacity and moral compass quickly set him apart, earning him respect among his peers and superiors. ryker was known for his unconventional methods and unyielding dedication, traits that sometimes put him at odds with the bureaucratic and often corrupt system he worked within.his life took a dramatic turn when he was framed for a crime he didn't commit. his sleeve ( the physical body he inhabited ) was stripped from him, and he was sentenced to a long, cold slumber in the digital void. during his incarceration, his sleeve was reassigned to takeshi kovacs, a former envoy and a man with a notorious reputation. ryker's girlfriend, detective kristin ortega, unknowingly fell for kovacs whilst he inhabited ryker's body, their relationship blossoming amid the chaos and danger of Bay City.when Ryker was finally released and given his sleeve back, he was confronted with a harsh reality. ortega ( the woman he had loved and trusted ) had moved on. the intimacy and connection she shared with kovacs in his own body left ryker feeling betrayed and hollow. despite her attempts to reconcile and explain, ryker could not shake the feeling of being replaced, the memories of their time together now tainted by another man's presence.the betrayal did not end there. ryker soon discovered that the bcpd, the institution he had dedicated his life to, had failed him. corruption and deceit ran deeper than he had ever imagined, and those he once called colleagues had played a part in his downfall. disillusioned and embittered, ryker made a fateful decision: he would walk away from the force, from the badge that had once been his symbol of justice.with nothing left to lose, ryker took to the streets of bay cty as a rogue vigilante. stripped of his formal authority but not his skills or determination, he began his crusade to find justice by his own means. he hunted down criminals, exposed corruption, and took down those who operated above the law. the line betwixt right and wrong became blurred as ryker delved deeper into the city's underworld, but he remained driven by a single goal: to ensure that no one else would suffer as he had.ryker's methods were brutal and uncompromising. he became a ghost in the city's shadows, a figure whispered about in fear and awe. his quest for justice was relentless, and though his actions were often outside the law, they brought a sense of order and retribution that bay city desperately needed. he forged alliances with other disillusioned souls, creating a network of informants and allies who shared his vision.in his darkest moments, ryker still thought of ortega.
